Below are six main stages in building a portrait from the imagination. Creation of this work involved assuming the impact of four light sources on every object in the painting. Inspiration for this 36" x 36" oil titled "Love V"  came from my Haiku below. A mirror image of the words in this poem are scratched into the painting.
            Love of a mother,
            Given from depths unbounded,
            Heart forever true.
