Art Classes

C. Aubrey McWatt employs a teaching method that is both instructive and exploratory. He provides a historical backdrop to oil painting, an understanding of the medium and exercises that help his students appreciate color through practices in mixing and experimenting prior to engaging in a painted work. He encourages students to follow their natural inclination on what to paint and to find their preference in the range of style between realism and abstraction, allowing them the freedom to develop their choices as they progress. Aubrey encourages students to express themselves through their inner creative spirit and to follow the aesthetically harmonious shapes and colors that emerge.
